......Cube has a true single chip encoder today. Ask Alex to clarify what he means. I don't think he can...............

Do these guys understand that the cube chip is scaleable
so it will come in multiple chip config. based on the application.
(such as HDTV and other interesting high horsepower tasks)
Cube's single chip does everything PLUS more than most of their
multiple chip sets did before.
Is the Innovacom chip scaleable?

Chromatic Research Aligns Top Management for Next Phase

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 1998--

Dave Holt Named President & Chief Operating Officer

In a move that prepares the company for rapid revenue growth in 1998, Chromatic Research, Inc., the pioneer and leader in
media processor technology, has named Dave Holt as President of the company, in addition to his role as Chief Operating
Officer. Holt will report directly to Wes Patterson who continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the
Board. Holt, 39, is one of the original management team that founded Chromatic Research in 1993. As President, Holt will be
responsible for internal company operations, including engineering, sales and marketing. Prior to his appointment last fall as
C.O.O., Holt served as Vice President of Software for Chromatic Research, creating the company's world-class,
one-of-a-kind software engineering team which develops and supports Mpact Mediaware software for the company's Mpact
media processors. Mr. Holt also continues to serve on the Microsoft WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering Conference)
Technical Advisory Council, where he provides Microsoft with input on future directions for PC multimedia technology. "As
Chromatic Research transitions from start-up mode to revenue generation, it will be increasingly important that external and
internal issues both receive our undivided attention," said Wes Patterson, CEO, Chromatic Research. "Since he was named
C.O.O. in October, Dave has proven his expertise in managing internal issues critical to our growth and profitability. As
President, Dave will assume a broader role in managing all internal responsibilities, which in turn enables me to concentrate on
rapidly increasing activity with external constituents, namely our customers, our semiconductor partners, and our investors."
"The industry's move toward multimedia silicon integration, required for sub-$1,000 PCs, creates an ideal climate for
Chromatic's media processor technology," said Dave Holt, President, Chromatic Research. "PC manufacturers are clearly
ready for a highly integrated, single-chip, low-cost multimedia solution. Our focus must now be on execution and completion
of the product our customers and prospective customers have helped to define. I look forward to helping Chromatic meet
these challenges." Prior to co-founding Chromatic Research in 1993 with Michael Farmwald (Chromatic Visionary, who also
founded Rambus) and Steve Purcell (Chromatic Chief Technical Officer, formerly chief architect at C-Cube), Holt was vice
president of engineering at SHOgraphics, Inc. As general manager, software environments at Convex Computer Corporation,
he was responsible for scientific visualization, interactive technologies and software development tool product families. Holt
also spent three years at Mostek Corporation as an engineer in the Microcomputer Components business unit. Holt holds an
MBA from SMU and a BSEE from the University of Missouri.
