"So what we are left with is that morality at its foundation is existential, which means humans best judgement as to what is moral and what is not.." That generally seems to be the case. It's important to note that "humans best judgement" is not the same as koan's best judgment, and a deviation from your code does not mean they didn't think about the issue.
