* PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT closed its 1997 year-end drilling partnership fully subscribed at a record $18.5 million. The company estimates that it will drill about 100 wells during the 1Q of 1998 in Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, an increase from 84 wells in the first quarter of 1997.
