Trump is just doing what he promised. I am not sure lower dollar and/or tariffs are necessarily bad. Got to employ people outside finance and “services”. Many sectors of US economy are dead because of unfair competition with China. The Chinese, the Germans, etc, keep their currency low to have manufacturing/engineering jobs. In the USA these sectors are dead. I think it’s too late to save the decomposed bones though. These were good high paying non Walmart non barista jobs.
