We were talking about tax revenue which is, of course, a totally different thing from deficits.

I would point out that the Clinton capital gain cut of 1997 was one of the strong driving forces to deficit reduction and the projected "surplus" you guys are always bragging about.

Deficit is NOT a measure of revenue. Perhaps you missed that in your Principles of Accounting class.
