Yes, I had in mind Sunday laws. Liquor laws are closely related.

I recall a weird blue law conundrum I had once here in Austin. HEB could sell me beer on Sunday, but it couldn't sell me a bottle opener on Sunday! ( required back then - no twist off tops) Or, maybe I already had the beer..

I never really thought of liquor sale restrictions as blue laws but I guess that’s what it is.

When I moved to Dallas not being able to buy even baby diapers on Sunday was the law. But they got rid of what we’re called blue laws around 79 or 80.

In Arkansas you can buy booze in a restaurant on Sunday but not in a store.
