Maybe you aren't talking to the right people. For example, the Cubans are all smiles and give full lectures on the greatness of their health care system when the cameras and recorders are on. But when you take them aside and get a few beers in them, they'll tell you that they'd rather be in the US where they can determine their own future and succeed or fail according to their own efforts. As to their health care? They say, don't believe the hype. They say lines are long to get what you need an only the people in power or connected to the people in power get the best healthcare. Everyone else gets the left overs. They also say they have trouble enticing people to become doctors because they aren't paid well enough to go through the effort. They also say they can't get the medicines they need when they need them. Many complain that just to keep their weight steady, they have to engage in the tourist industry or in black market activity. They don't get enough food or they get food that is low in protein and essential vitamins. They are suffering, poor, and have no future prospects. The young people are the most willing to talk and they are in a state of despair and don't believe much will change now that the Castros are gone. You people who believe in Socialism are naive. You live in a fantasy land that only academics believe in. People living under the Socialist yoke don't want it. With all of the US's flaws, they'd still rather be here.
