An important point about Hoover. Because Hoover's approach to the crisis is exactly what i-node says should be done, which is hands off and let the economy improve on its own. It didn't. It just got worse. As did every other country that took a hands off approach. Those that implemented New Deal like policies, like the US, started to improve. And New Zealand, which went even further than FDR, improved the most. All of the other countries stagnated until they were drawn into the war. Only the US recovered before they were officially in the war.

And then, of course, there was one country who didn't suffer at all because of the Great Depression. Wanna guess which one that was?
