Show me a society. God, do you need everything spelled out to you. There have always been kind, moral people,, but I am talking about the evolution of morality.

There was not a single society on earth prior to 1700 that had the advanced morality you see today.

And in those days the church reigned supreme and the intellectuals had to fear for their lives.

<<

Show me one place on earth that had current ideas of morality before 1700!

That doesn't serve as an argument for your point. The passage of time != formal schooling. There were educated people with many years of schooling before 1700, there are plenty of people with little or no formal schooling in 2018.

Current ideas are irrelevant. Morality is universal across time and circumstance. Societal ideas about what is good or bad develops as members of society put pressure on one another and on the system to adapt to their desires for change. Sometimes that develops into improvements for segments of the population and sometimes it results in corruptions to society that eventually bring society to collapse.

I realize some believe they have been born into the ultimate and perfect time and place but I suspect that thinking will be proven wrong over time.

Generosity and patience has always and everywhere been a morally good characteristic to hold. Cruelty and harmful behavior has always and everywhere been considered a morally loathsome trait. etc. etc.
