To All,

its well known that there is a temporary price surge on DRAM right now, and its starting to show big time at the retail level.. here is today's commentary from a retail vendor:

Memory costs have been going up for about a week. We held off on price increases last week, but our stock is now running low so we have been forced to raise our prices. We went up on Monday, then had to raise 32mb SIMM prices another 10% today. This price increase caught us by surprise, we don't have a feel for how long or much they will go up, or how soon they will drop again. Over time, memory prices always drop, so we would expect them to fall again at some point. DIMM prices have not been affected as badly as SIMM prices, at least to this point.
