Yes, our founding fathers were the intelligencia of the day. And they were the only one's who could have penned our constitution and put it together; and sheperded it to get it to stick. In south America they were not so lucky Democracy did not stick as a rule and have a history of one military coup after another. We made it in one try because of the elites of the day. << Churchill, FDR, our founding fathers- the "Gods" of the past are all elites. They mostly went to elite colleges, were scions of old families, and wanted to work for the public good. Those kinds of elites are great. Give me Noblesse Oblige any old day over Trump's greedy grasping and complete disregard for others.
