You are dead wrong and keep perpetuating this right wing myth that dems voted against the 64 civil rights act, those were Dixiecrats, conservative southern Democrats.

All liberals voted for the 1964 civil rights. Saying dems voted for the 64 civil rights act by using Dixiecrats is the same lie as implying Lincoln was a conservative when in fact he was a liberal in the northern free states liberal party of his day the Republican party..

You are helping the right wing AGAIN spread their myths. The 1964 civil rights act was 100% ideology. It was not a party vote that you and Tim insist on. The Republicans keep telling this lie and you keep defending them doing it.

Every liberal in congress vote for passage of the 64 act and all votes against it were conservative votes.. And I have always used liberal and conservative instead of dem and pub as dem and pub does not reflect the REALITY!!

The 1964 act was supported by liberals, categorically, and voted against by conservatives, categorically.

As mentioned, Not one liberal voted against it. Every single vote against it and all lobbying was done by conservatives: As Gertrude Stein said:" a conservative by any other name (Dixiecrat) is still a conservative"!.

The Republicans which you are helping spread this lie want to hang Dixiecrats around the neck of lteh Democratic party and liberals, but Dixiecrats were nothing more than southern conservatives.

After the 1964 civil right act passed ,the Republican party went to the south using Lee Atwater's racist Southern strategy and the Dixiecrats became today's Republicans!!

The dirty little secret , The deal the pubs presented to the Dixiecrats was vote for us and we will slow walk integration as much as we can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! e.g. busing, affirmative action, etc. And the Dixiecrats ate it up!!

Liberals fought against all of that!!

"You are dead wrong"

He's right, you're wrong.I've told you the exact same thing.

What Tim said that Wharf it defending:

Tim:" When the issue is raised by party its reasonable to deal with it with data by party. The issue raised was one of party not ideology, so its appropriate to respond with statistics based on party"

original post by koan to TIM: "You are dead wrong The 1964 civil rights amendment was 100% ideology. Liberal and African American civil rights.

We liberals have always honored a person civil rights e.g. the LGBT community.

We liberals marched with MLK and Cesar Chavez.

The 1964 civil rights act was coordinated with the liberals at every step. We stood back to back with the African Americans from day one!!

It was all conservatives that fought against the 64 civil rights act---why African Americans vote for dems---we stood with them and helped them and the pubs hurt them

Pretty damn simple and straight forward.

Your vision of reality rivals i-node's in its fantasy-lol.
