I saw that before, but didn't think about the impact. I guess Disney and the other Divx studios will have to release DVD discs (not Divx) in Europe and Asia, and maybe even Canada and Mexico. The brain trusts at Divx have encrypted themselves into a one-country corner. Hopefully it will impinge upon their sales in the USA. But there are country codes for DVD copy protection schemes, aren't there? So you can't smuggle in Disney DVD discs from France and play them on your DVD player in the US, right?
