What's your question, BC? Why is the UN sending investigators? Because that's what they do.

Should we have waited for the results of said investigation? I don't know.

Let's say the investigation confirms that Assad is responsible. By then, how much time would have elapsed? What would be the response, and how effective would it be, especially given the amount of time Assad would have had to hunker down and prepare?

None of these choices are very desirable. I'm more in favor of isolationism, but it's really hard to ignore the use of chemical weapons, whoever it may be that used them.
