Well, the title of his video seemed a little ad-hominem don't you think? Its not even handed, and somtimes attacks a bit, but no I don't think its ad-hominem. I don't think he's suggesting anyone is wrong or should have their opinions dismissed because of who they are. He makes negative comments about ideological groups but that isn't the same as ad-hominem. And when he attacks them he attacks the ideas rather than just generally abusing them (and even straight out abuse but he seems to have been a very lightweight academically I disagree. A titan in his field in terms of published research? No not at all, but there is a big gap between "titan" and "lightweight". His focus has for some time been in other areas. Not only do I disagree, I don't really care. Had Sowell actually been an academic lightweight. Publishing next to nothing in terms of papers, and never advancing much in academe, that wouldn't give me any reason to think he's wrong, or to pay less attention to anything he said.
