Bah! Mere facts! Wingnuts don't need no stinkin' facts!

Facts are inconvenient when you are just making shit up...

I didn't say India banned it. I simply pointed out that not all countries are the same size. IIRC India DID ban DDT except for fighting Malaria at least for a time (I believe there are still areas where DDT was being used in India for Malaria at least as late as 2015).

The point is that millions of lives were lost around the world as a result of the idiocy of banning DDT in response to Carson's book.

But it represents a common pattern of behavior amongst the public. Many on the Left today argue that we should not have defended against terrorist attacks after 9/11 because it was a one-off that was never going to happen again (I don't want to accuse the wrong person but I'm thinking either CJ or Bentway took that position on the other thread. RoadWalker, IIRC, referred to a 9/11 as a "pimple of the ass" of the country or similar language. In that case they were obviously wrong but it happens on both sides of the political aisle.

We should always evaluate the picture in its entirety yet, we seldom do. I've mentioned GW but there are dozens of places (Health Care/ACA) where we made the same mistake: No realistic analysis, but plenty of politically motivated fraud.

It is a major failing of our political system, wouldn't be that hard to correct if voting were limited the rational persons only. (I volunteer to decide who is rational).
