The rich are NOT smarter than the poor that is really a dumb thing to say.

Yes they are. Again its far from universal, plenty of rich dumb people and smart poor people. But people who are smart tend to make more money. Who would you hire for a high paying job, give a big raise to, or give a contract to, someone who's very intelligent or someone who's a bit slow?

That in turn helps the kids of rich people. Partially because of the large degree or heritability of intelligence, partially because having smarter and more educated (education is also correlated with financial success) parents give a bigger boost to their children then less intelligent and less educated parents.

The "at 5" is pretty important point since most studies of the matter conclude that while their is some boost during or immediately after kids enter pre-K, the kids who don't enter it mostly catch up later. You can look at 6 year olds who got some extra education and stimulus at 5 and see some increase in ability, but look at the same groups, and adjust for other factors, and the impact disappears when you look at them as teens.
