I don't know anything about the Federal judge Michael Cohen decided to appeal to. Here's the Wikipedia - en.wikipedia.org

Being an incompetent attorney, with more lawyers than clients, I think it's safe to assume Michael Cohen chose to appeal his case to the most incredulously inopportune venue he had available to him.

Ultimately there's very little reason for a judge to interfere in the Justice Department's overview of the evidence. Most work a "fixer" involves himself with is not legal work and has no attorney-client privilege. Just because I become an attorney doesn't make all of your conversations with me privileged.

It's like confession at the Catholic Church, if there's a crime involved there's no privilege. If Michael Cohen created a non-disclosure agreement between Trump and anyone else without Trump's knowledge, he can be disbarred for that and faces prison time.

Trump claims he didn't know - where does that leave Michael Cohen other than cooperating with the prosecutor?

One of the people at my ceramic studio went to High School with Michael Cohen in Long Island. He say says Michael was a snotty and conceited boy who was not terribly smart - sounds like the ideal sycophant employee for Trump.

The keeper of all of Trump's dirty secrets who Donald Trump has now forced to cooperate with prosecutors to avoid disbarment and prison
.

One can't say Donald Trump is acting like much of a stable-genius in this affair having not considered any of the consequences of his ongoing public statements - and no one can seem to shut him up, which is why Trump is down to just one lawyer.
