Yes, Cohen is tight with both the Russian and US mafia.

And he was involved in so much criminality.

But what does that say about a president that has a criminal like Cohen as his lawyer?

Cohen is under criminal investigation.

There are lots of lawyer who are not criminals.

It has been speculated that the reason why Manafort won't flip, despite enormous pressure is for that reason.

Cohen does have a unsavory background, though.
