Ole 49r,

Asians are accumulating gold !

Well, as I said, the Indians have been buyers of gold for centuries. It's in their culture. No matter how much gold they have, it's never enough. It's like a black hole.

However, I do not know if India would be included in the ACU. Probably not.

Cheers, Lalit Jain

O 49er, the current economic environment will necessarily create more and more of an every-man-for-himself mentality. Positive for gold.

By the way, did you hear that Congress is considering reducing the Treasury Secretary's discretionary power? At least some attention may be brought to the issue and we may actually see a debate.

The tendancy over the past two decades to increase the power given to the Fed and money given to the Treasury to be spent without approval of our representatives is not in our interest, despite what we are told to the contrary.

No one has said the Asians are DUMB...
... it seems like they are actually crazy!!!
Like a fox!!!!

ole 49r, you certainly have made a momentous discovery! or shall we say, a rediscovery! (-grin-)

BTW, did you know that, together with the Japanese, almost all the Asians have been tarred with the same brush as being sly, sneaky and treacherous and untrustworthy ever since that 'surprise' (or was it 'engineered'?) infamous/famous Pearl Harbor bombing/sinking in December 1945? Remember the banishment/internment of the Orientals to quite inhospitable places during World War II? (Ditto in Canada, plus the shameless confiscation of their hard-earned money and property and arbitrary disposal of same to "honest-to-God" and "trustworthy" Canadians.) And did you read about the Oriental Exclusion Acts of the late 1800s and early 1900s while you were in school? Enough said!

I don't for one moment believe those supposedly foxy specimens of humanity have manipulated the pog so they could now buy up lots of gold at "dirt-cheap" prices. Rather, I am inclined to think that, because some movers-and-shakers' schemes have gone awry, a fortuitous make-hay-while-the-sun-shines opportunity now presents itself for them to 'harvest' as much gold as they have money to buy. I, for one, will not give them so much credit for being that foxy.

As the world spins on its axis, so things go on a-evolving, eh?
