your answer was what I expected.
win NT4 or NT5 is a million miles away from supporting any major corp.
I use win NT for specialized depts like engineering. And our MIS dept. uses everything<gg>
Our corp has to use netware 4.xx as the backbone.
we'll eventually be Win NT, netware, and oracle as the relational database software for our ERP.

There have been so many disasters with corps. think ing they can run big organizations
off of win NT.
our corp will be 100-150 million this next and 500 million next yr.
no way we can make the backbone win NT.
don't want microsoft mail or groupware stuff either.

Cpq almost has their SAP erp suystem finished.
they have all the sales world on sap
the latin american plant is SAP
Scotland plant goes SAP in Amrch
singapore and china plant goes SAP in MAy.
can't remember if the australian config center goes and they have a dallas plant that does
modems..
Houston is the kicker..it's this yr.
cpq will then run off Proliants and oracle with Unix as the operating softwar in large sites
and win NT in small sites.
their shop floor and quality stuff is still in netware.
No more hp 3000's for cpq then
