"It's not speculation at all. Based on Hock's actions when acquiring Broadcom and his statements of expected cost cutting synergies at qualcomm we could easily have seen a 30% or more layoff for American employees. "

Again, simply speculation. You have taken what was written and added your own hyperbolic spin to it.

Here is what the article stated

"If there is any question about Broadcom’s job killing ambitions, look no further than its own news release, which said “the combination of our two companies and associated synergies will be accretive to Broadcom’s earnings.”

Here the author is spinning up the masses with his own speculation.

??? Would an acquisition of Qualcomm be accreditive to Broadcom's earnings? Of course it would. Would there have been some layoffs due to duplicity in operations? Of course there would have been. Qualcomm is currently doing that already with their recent layoff announcement. Hock's $82 a share not required

Continued from the article

"Notice the word “synergies”? That word, a throwback to the 1990s merger days, has returned, but no one has forgotten what it is a euphemism for: cost-saving layoffs."

Again simply the authors spin-up machine in process. Would there have been some layoffs? Of course. Is Qualcomm implementing layoffs sans Broadcom? Yes.

Qualcomm to Acquire NXP

You stated:

"we could easily have seen a 30% or more layoff for American employees."

Again, purely speculation on your part!! You believe what you want to believe. But, stating your opinions does not make them Facts. More Monsters in the closet. Congratulations, you saved all those opined layoffs and your stock is heading into the $40's

From the Qualcomm NXP Meger release
