Adding taxes on marijuana is something that at the state and local levels largely has been done. Legalizing it on the federal level would help (lower enforcement costs) and then you could tax it as well, but it would be a drop in the bucket.

Taxes on robots might actually reduce revenue in the long run. Extra productivity is essential to be able to cover the cost of caring for a larger percentage of the population being retired.

To the extent that productivity results in more corporate revenue you get to tax it either as corporate income tax, or capital gains, or tax on dividends and other distributions, or extra payroll and income taxes on employees or on some combination. Taxing elements of the productivity increase will directly bring in revenue but might reduce the growth in the others more than enough to make up the difference.
