Goldbug23, that's right IMO. Deflation is bad for gold until it becomes serious enough. At which point it becomes very very good for gold. Not only because of the demand for money (short term liquid holdings) but because CB's/govts will have all sorts of incentives to revalue their gold reserves upwards.

By the way, the only kind of "deflation" that makes the dollar strong relative to gold is price deflation, which will never happen in thsi country.

A deflationary credit contraction will.
