Who's They? Maybe someone does want us to believe that. If so good for them since its the truth. - From WWII on we've had top personal income tax rates from 90+% down to 28%. None of those rates has ever brought in enough sustained revenue as a percentage of the economy to cover future entitlement costs. - Is a simple and true statement. Obviously true to anyone who looks at the data. I have no concern at all about some "they" that "wants us to believe it" beyond hoping that "they" succeed on this since its not only true but a rather important true point.
