About Dr. House.
In this thread, Dave is often referred to as *Dr.* House.
Did he get an honorary PhD, or is that an informal title
he was given for healing a bruised Bay Networks?
Does anyone know?
His bio on the Bay site calls him Mr. House.

-Jay

ptv,
Re -- The difference I think is that Bay's margins will be improving while Intel's will decline and Bay will be gaining on competition while competition will be gaining on Intel.

Also Intel earned $1.7 BILLION!! in profits. Thats equivalent to 3Q's of Bay's sales. Also there are only 2 or 3 companies who have more profits in absolute dollars than Intel. I'll take declining margins anyday for that kind of profits.

If Bay can earn even 1/10 of those profits, the longs in bay would be very happy indeed.!!!

Also competition is a relative term. Intel's competition is not Cisco (3 times bay's size).

Just a perspective.
