recheck the computer reseller article here re:intel/amd
siliconinvestor.com
there you may find the earnings stories as they really were, sans exuberant reporting and seen in a practical light:before they were announced, and before they were spun...

time after time, amd trots out its pr machine to tout its wares and inevitably they sabotage their own campaign with disastrous ramps.
i am watching IBM closley for the possible cancellation of its most recent amd contract: should amd remain true to form, and
this quarter would seem to ensure that course, i do not see how they
could honor their commitment to ibm.

anything is possible, but it seems their reach has exceeded their grasp.
