President Obama's plan had $1trillion of tax increases and $3 trillion of cuts. CEOs said no to that when they gave money to republicans to help them get reelected. They need the teat of government debt.

But even you're right about the Obama plan (and you're not) the gop could have put forward a counterproposal. But that would have required to actually go to work and that's never going to happen.
