Dear Doug,
I would concur with Your analysis. However I think that the tech-selloff is in its last stage. Remember Februar-April 97' ? Pretty much the same story. Everything will be a glimpse from the past once we will reclaim the NAZ 1650+ territory.

I think that COHR's medical business is a nice cushion against shortfalls from semi-field. I got my position of COHR at $44 this fall. It rose to $59. I should have sold but didn't. Anyway, it was knocked to low 30ies, now short below $40. I'm quite comfortable with this stock with a pretty much reduced risk level in contrast to CYMI. I got into that at $23 after reading S.Habbash all-out-bullish comment when CYMI was at $50 (post split). You see, I come from the semi-camp and I was in search of a competitor to CYMI, that's why I got into COHR.

I would think that DVD, telecom, medical etc. provide nice additional opportunities for COHR. What is more they could have a faster route to next-generation DUV/EUV with their recent ArF and F2 prototypes. I really think that my CYMI strategy is short-intermediate term, whereas my COHR idea is mid-long term..

best wishes
