Mike,

Now I know that you are truly disconnected from what Y2K is really all about.

Regardless of the issue of imbedded systems, Y2K will have drastic impacts on most of those companies that you listed in your post. I have sold INTC @$85, sold DELL Thursday @$91 and won't touch any of the semi equipment manufacturers.

There will be a very limited market for new IT systems as we see moratoriums placed on them until the Y2K issue is resolved. That will hurt software and networking companies and the hardware manufacturers utilized in these networks.

It remains to be seen, however, whether the preponderance of obsolete and non-compliant pre-pentium systems will maintain market growth for companies like DELL and CPQ who face pricing pressures. I'm betting that they don't. I may be wrong, but I KNOW big cap companies will have to spend money on Y2K. Anything else will be an extravagance and a distraction until the millenium bug is resolved.
