Addi,

You could see these stocks trade higher , but after all the earnings
reports are out these stock will settle back. The Asian problems
are not going away overnight . If you re-purchase your shares you risk buying them high only to watch them sell off again. I dont like to buy on rallies that I dont think are sustainable.
I dont follow TXN or Amat. Ask yourself this , if you buy the stock back and it goes down is that worse then if you dont buy it and it goes up?? You made money on your trade, maybe instead of buying wait to see if they run up and instead buy puts. A lot of pro traders may disagree with me here because a true trader will trade on a daily basis and it does not matter if they sold the stock the day before and had to buy it higher the next day, if they think its going up again they will trade it. But then they can sit in front a a quotron all day :-]

AMAT traded from 30 1/4 to 31 after INTC's numbers came out and settled in a range around 30 3/8 to 30 5/8. AMAT could run to 33 in the next day or so but will then run into resistance. AMAT is a great company and should be bought on any pullbacks as an investment.

***OT (AMAT) ***
Addi,

I'm with you on the AMAT thing. I've had orders in 2 straight days
on AMAT, and didn't get either one of them. Missed yesterday's low
by about 7/16. I like AMAT longer term, and really want it. Should
have just put in a market order on the open.

I had a market order to buy INTC yesterday at the open, then quickly
cancelled it when I saw the S&P futures down 14+ on CNBC yesterday.
INTC opened at 70 and change yesterday. If I would've stuck with it
I'd be up 7 points or so and rising in 2 days.

So, what's your take on AMAT -- would you buy at market on the open or
place a limit order? I'm guessing it'll open around $31, and trade
up to $35 in the next week or so.

Thx,

John Dodson
