A similar thing happened in Connecticut when they put a lot of gun restrictions in place. Granted, the rest of the country saw a reduction in gun violence, but at a much lower rate.

Gun deaths isn't an important statistic. If your killed by something other then a gun your still dead. Murders and murder rates are the important statistic. There rate is lower, but it was already lower, and after they increased gun control there rate didn't decrease faster then the American rate did.
