Okay, I think I understand you now. But there are many flaws in your beliefs. First, they echo the gop talking points of the fall of the USSR. Second, Gorbachev traveled to the West before he became president and saw the West had a far better economy than the USSR. He started glasnost and perestroika almost imminently after getting power and he said why....because the USSR was falling behind. In the (fake) world of Reagan (and gop mythology), the US had to catch up with the USSR which meant a lot of spending and a lot of debt (unnecessary spending). Since Reagan said his tax cuts would result in balanced budgets and he was 100% wrong, the gop needed excuses to justify the failure of tax cuts. Reagan simply used the USSR as an excuse to spend lots of money to create the illusion of growth, growth based on government debt. Then when the USSR fell the gop said we'll use that an excuse for Reagan being wrong about tax cuts (and the Soviet Union). Once we eliminate Reagan from the mix, what's left must be true. What's left is "free elections." They voted communists out of power because they could.
