I've been slf employed and paying SS and medicare taxes for over 50 years. If the gubbiement has mandated those funds went into a treasury drip savings account, I'd have retired at 62 a multimillionaire

Instead I'm still working, my medicare is $750/mo, not collecting SS and still paying 15% SS & medicare taxes every year

Exactly. Gen X and every generation after has been royally screwed by the Baby Boomers. The Boomers paid low rates most of their lives and then will get far more than they put in. Gen Xers paid double the rates in their careers and will get far less. The system has been rigged in every way to enrich the Boomers and screw everyone else. I've said this before, but this false dichotomy and arguments between the GOP and DNC is just a sideshow. The real problem is the war between generations. The Boomers have been in a war of plunder against all future generations and they have been winning for decades. Gen X is not big enough to fight back. Maybe the Millennials are, but the Boomers brainwashed them into thinking Capitalism is the problem, when in reality, wholesale rape and pillaging by the Boomers is the problem. So the Millennials are going to try to solve the problem with Socialism, which will make them and every future generation even poorer, with far less freedom. It's a sad joke the Boomers have played on everyone and they will get away with it.
