Herb to clarify, they can be sent through email as an attachment, but that in itself doesn't activate the virus. An email itself cannot be infected. Likewise, if you receive an infected file via email, it can't do anything as long as you leave it alone i.e. don't open, activate, or attempt to use until you've run a virus scan.

longer than 2 hours to restore. But that's OK.

Uh, no...that's not at all what the web page says. It lists some of the more common hoaxes that are floating around the Net, but there are over 18.000 real viruses "out there" as well..
