If your concern is "will it impact average life expectancy a lot" then no gun control scheme will have any impact on it except perhaps banning law abiding people (maybe including cops) from owning or possessing them while giving them out to convicted violent felons. Anything else from no restriction to draconian confiscation will be a minor issue in terms of total life expectancy.

Murder is a much more reasonable measure then either total life expectancy or "gun deaths".
