My introduction to the wiles of Libertarians, was an article written about the Bush/Gore ballot issue in Florida. The guy writing the article had a Phd in Economics, so he should have been exposed to a bit of math. He wrote an article complete with a bunch of graphs, claiming that there was nothing unusual at all about the vote in Florida, because what he did was produce a chart of Buchanna vote % by county, and that made it look like Palm Beach was not a stand out at all. Its very similar to the apparent scatter plots that Tim is posting for guns. There is a huge problem when you are looking at means when the underlying issue is not uniformly distributed within the population. Which is the problem I'm trying to point out to Tim.

The most interesting question on the Economics Phd IMHO was whether he was a fool or a knave. Did he actually believe his own BS, or did he actually know what he was doing and the goal was to fool others?
