If one studies history they can see the Republican mindset was pervasive and the norm more than the exception. Liberals of the day always had to fear for their ideas. Even today there is not one liberal dictatorship, they are all conservative.

An idea too often missed.

Liberal thought, freed, is a very new manifestation which I credit to the 60's, to a large extent, as the first major existential movement in the history of humankind.

It was a time when large masses of people walked out of Plato's Cave arms linked and pushing against the forces of primitive conservative ideology.

The millennials are continuing that revolution now a and it has spread around the world and is the hope for humankind.
