I have never even heard of preserving uncooked eggs by this coating method whether wax or oil. Good to know.

We never tried an oil but it sounds a whole lot easier... by the way, eggs were able to stay at room temperature on our sailboat for several weeks without spoiling, but the wax was just a safety precaution...
