F=MA, that's an equation one is likely to run into in a classroom. The left has managed to cram very little down my throat, personally, and I don't read social history. The easy dismissal was kind of cute. Someone mentioned one social aspect that changed, there were others. Correlation/causation, while not the same, are also not mutually exclusive. Never took statistics, probably should have, would have helped in genetics class. God, what they didn't know about biology, back then. ARS

Over 70% of black children are born into single mother households.Correlation is Not Causation!This statement is at the start of most statistic classes, I think the "No Fathers" excuse has been drilled into us by the Left so well that most of us believe it. I don't think the simple fact of fatherless is the cause. JMO, but it's what Moynihan wrote about 50 years ago - Defining Deviancy Down. Once we started making excuses for dysfunctional behavior, it became more accepted. Before the Great Society, blacks generally shared the WASP values that were so much a part of culture. If lack of a father were a cause, then Germany in the 50's would have become a real disaster. I've met a number of Germans of that era and most of them didn't have fathers - they were killed in the war. But they were still enculturated into the traditional German cultural structure and did very well.
