Better than expected demand growth in cloud and enterprise servers is explained by the difference in energy consumption between solid state and hard drives.

I would suggest you read the conference call transcript. The better than expected enterprise demand came from hard drives, not from solid state drives. And MAMR (a hard drive technology) is their next big thing. Understanding technology is an important prerequisite to understanding the numbers. Deja vu of your support for SanDisk as it went from triple digits to the 40's.

Agree with your points, Art. Regarding the completely irrational price for the stock, I think it is certainly the over supply threat that has beat down the prices for WDC and MU. I don't think the stock will do much more than get back into the $80's over the next few months because there will be no indications the over supply threat is over blown. It could be six months to a year before we see triple digits again. Wish I had sold when it was $105, but of course, we all thought it was going to $550 at that time, huh?

What's changed in the last few weeks other than $20 being lopped off in stock price? Nothing. Exceeded earnings estimates again, guided higher for next Q even though they are sandbagging (listen to conference call), and they are going to earn 20% higher this year over the $12 estimate that they put out last spring for 2017 year which shocked everyone because it was such a great number yet the stock is $20 lower from then. Remember last week when everyone in the world was convinced Apple was going bankrupt, at least that's what you would have thought. Supply chain analysis was awful, Iphone X was going to be discontinued (its their best seller), stock price going to tank (it hit all time high today). Sometimes those in the know don't know anything. I think one of two things is happening. Either WDC is going to come out with some very, very bad news here soon (doubt it) or some big holder is selling. Other than that I don't have much else. I still think patience will pay off.
