Risk free suggests a rate of return higher than the rate of inflation. I don't think UT Treasuries can deliver that going forward on a consistent basis.

A mix weighted towards investment like treasuries (lower return, lower volatility, very low default risk) would tend to not only peform better than investing in one single type of security, it would also end to be safer.

Of course such a mix you would probably still wind up having a lot of treasuries, just not 100 percent.
