David, I wonder where John Smith posted his message. It doesn't seem to be on the S.I. PFG forum. Also, it couldn't have been in an e-mail sent to PFG since that wouldn't be defamation. It had to be made some place where others could read it. It may be very difficult to find the line between stating an opinion and alleging a fact. I could see evidence of the latter might be the inclusion of false and misleading data on PFG, but failing that, we might be into shades of grey. Can't defamation be based on someone expressing an opinion without any foundation? (If so, maybe a lot of us better be careful!) :)
