a quick look at the ponies for the 2018 KD 1---Firenze Fire--- will be pinched in on the rail and have no shot 2---Free Drop Billy --- will be lathered up and squeezed inside with late close at the end .... no shot to win 3---Promises Fulfilled ----Dale Romans will send him out to the front and will set the early fractions around 22++ and 45++ but can't hold om 4---Flameaway=== will go with Promise early and will have the lead at the top of the stretch ... ability to go the distance is the main question but he can win this race at huge odds 5---Audible--- not bred to go long ... daddy hasn't bred one to win at over 9fl 6---Good Magic--- can win but I'd like odds above 8/1 for a value wager 7---Justify --- favorite but lacks a bottom--- could end up to be a great one 8---Lone Sailor --- will close down the stretch but not enough 9===Hofburg --- like Justy has no bottom but will hit the board ... longshot 10---Bolt d Oro--- good pony but not great ... won't win 11---Enticed--- getting better.. good colt... just not good enough to win 12---Bravazo --- not with these 14---Mendelsson--- who knows .. possibly the great horse .... definitely a good one and could have the ability to run off from these .. just got to Churchill and probably not aware he is even in the USA .... BIG question mark 15---Instilled Regard---hard to pick but has ability well beyond 50/1 16---Magnum Moon--- would not be a big suprise to win but another one without a good bottom as he has all the attributes of a classic champ .. feel he needs more experience and I hate the drift in the AK Derby 17---Solomini --- terrible post position .... pass 18---Vino Rosso----great jock ..I'll bet Pletcher hates pody out here but this pony is good 19--- Noble Indy---didn't draw minimum at yearling sale ... improving colt but I don't like his chances from way out 20---Combatant --- typical of most of these non favorites ... good hors . just not great and not much chance here are my picks to WIN ... only ... that is a win ticket and not in order (that comes in a later post) with current time odds at 10:15 pm on Derby day 4---Flameaway==== 50/1 5--- Good Magic===9/1 14---Mendelsson===6/1 16---Magnum Moom===13/1
