There was a big flap (documented in the Dictionary of Political Correctness) about pronouns started by the same lingual rocket scientists who brought us "womyn", which resonates disturbingly with "vermin". The petitioners were excoriating the need to get locked into a gender (the him/her deal) when selecting a pronoun for "person" and suggesting some awful alternatives (like "er, erself"). Well, the ever-solicitous editors of the Dictionary had their own candidate for universal pronoun: s'h'it!
