Mark Bailey: I consided the fact of Nextel being sold, don't like it.

There are many things to consider when you think about Nextel being acquired by another company. One of them is that Nextel is not anywhere near its prime, and the company will go at too low a price. I don't want to sell at 25 or 26, do you?

If Nextel is allowed to stand on its own, it has a chance of hitting Arnie's numbers (lets say 100), Arnie say higher but use this as an example. If the company is acquired, we will get ATT stock or whatever at the low trade rate. Then it doesn't matter how successful Nextel is because it will be diluted by the demise of AT&T's other investments, as a consolidated company.

Feedback is encouraged

Al

"The head of ATT made it clear they were not done buying-NXTL could be in the mix by early next year if not sooner."

Mark, I don't think that there's a chance in the world that McCaw would sell out at this point. This is a startup, not a maturing business. Of course if the price is $75 he might jump at it. On the other hand, in 1999 the stock will reach that level on its own merits.
