Couple of points suggest that this is theater . Nunes obviously knows if these requests are related to the FISA/start of the CounterIntel op then it should be Rosenstein who is held in contempt (unless Sessions is unrecused). And Nunes knows his committee cannot expect to see any real info as long as Adam Schiff gets to see the same. DOJ has already allowed Goodlatte, Gowdy and Nunes to privately view the full FISA application. Second point, this hoopla is spotlighting that whoever 'this specific individual' mentioned in his letter is, he is a biggie. They're doing this for maximum effect so all eyes are on the ball when the info comes out. Case in point is the comparison of the unreacted v redacted house memo ( see thread link at the bottom for the full comparison). They waited on unredacting till after Comey's book tour although the redactions had no national security risk etc. For maximum effect in destroying Comey/McCabe and exonerating Flynn. It's confirmation DOJ is not obstructing (if more confirmation is needed beyond the IG leaks, Huber appointment, all the firings/Resignation of top crooks in DOJ/FBI etc.) - more likely they're controlling the flow of narrative. threadreaderapp.com
