CNNfn, Sun Microsystems team up to offer portfolio-management tool
(http://www.cnnfn.com/markets/9801/12/marimba/)

Investment Tracker allows users to follow prices for stocks and major market indexes automatically. The information is stored privately on the user's computer, and consistently updates itself via a connection to the CNNfn servers.

To use the new service, users must first download and install the free Castanet tuner. Versions are available for Windows 95 and NT and Solaris machines.

=====================================================================

I have been using PointCast on my WindowsNT workstation and frequently get the "Blue Screen" MS 'Crash' logo. Maybe it is time to buy one of those Darwin machines and migrate everything to the Solaris OS.

From the technical people I have talked to, the NT crashes I have experienced may be due to 'timing' problems, possible driver conflicts, and a myriad of other things that I am still trying to track down.

All this user wants is a solid performing operating system that can run a server in the background and run my Windows 32-bit application programs. I think Sun's $3,000 solution may fit my needs and they also provide an upgrade path using those PCI slots with module upgrade boards. Sun even stated that you can order a custom configured system over the Internet at sun.com . (For more info on Darwin, here is another article: msnbc.com )
