Mirasol also was an invention that had one advantage – a brighter display than that from displays using LCD technology, but currently not a great advantage compared to OLED. What apparently killed Mirasol was the inability to improve yield, making the display unprofitable, no matter whether the images were brighter or easier to read. Qualcomm, lacking manufacturing expertise, and not apparently wanting to acquire such expertise, let the whole project go down the drain.

I think Centriq is a bit different in that the specs and performance we know about show a viable product far less expensive than its major competition, both in initial price as well as in power consumption. You are absolutely right that we have little transparency on the details, so we don't know if Centriq is really viable. But if it isn't viable, then management may be guilty of a cover up, and deception of this sort can run afoul of securities regulations.
