Thanks for that link. Perhaps some middle way will be found. I still think ZTE is the canary to watch. Will China go the mat for them or not. Its pretty clear that ZTE will be a significant motivating factor for China to ramp up its semi independence bid, which is quite funny because the USA (even under Obama) was decrying the Chinese gov push for semi build out, and then Dumpf comes along and hands them the crystal clear motivation for doing so...

Here is another view on that from a few months back:

I can see one way around this. The EU could charter a special EU bank that handles all financial transactions between EU companies and Iran. The bank would have no financial ties to the USA.
